i – Care

is how we connect with our community and get involved in social action. This is the ministry that coordinates & organises Faith Sharing weekends and outreaches. Its mandate is simply to create the atmosphere for evangelism in our communities for Grace Chapel and to direct the church’s mission’s and church planting activities.

It is responsible for Grace Chapel’s ministry to people of Chesterfield especially people with needs.  Through this ministry, we seek to express and share the love and goodness of God to those outside the church who are less privileged, oppressed of the devil, in need and the general populace.

Under i-Care ministry we have;

ROC Cafe

The ROC Café is a youth drop in project which provides healthy diversionary activities for young people. Has worked in cities & town across the nation with significant reports of anti-social behavior and the use of legal highs as it is the case in our town. We work in partnership other local churches, the ‘Police Service’, local authorities and the Street Pastor initiative which is another community-based project that has a significant impact on a community.

Our ROC Café Started on the back of the Summer holiday scheme run by churches together in summer 4-5years ago in Queens park annex and the successful take of Street Pastors in Chesterfield which has gained so much recognition and has been the most successful initiative.

At our ROC Café, young people are at the heart of the project and some have become helpers, serving their mates! It is a place where they have an opportunity to express themselves in Music, dancing and cake craft, games like pool table, table tennis, and board games like cluedo, monopoly, scrabble, chess, etc

Like you all know that it takes time for young people to connect and especially the kind of young people we’ve got, it took approx. about 2 years for them to warm up to us but now we have good connections and relationships with them, they relate to us on first name bases, see some of the volunteers like grand parents and others as friends

Soup Kitchen

Jesus said in ….. Matthew 25:35-36 & 40 (AMP)  For I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you brought Me together with yourselves and welcomed and entertained and lodged Me,
I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you visited Me with help and ministering care, I was in prison and you came to see Me………….
And the King will reply to them, Truly I tell you, in so far as you did it for one of the least [in the estimation of men] of these My brethren, you did it for Me.
In obedience to this scripture, our doors are open to feed the homeless, 3 days a week (Tuesday’s, Friday’s & Sunday’s).
